Anti-War. Pro-Booty Dancing.
Posted: September 26th, 2005 | Author: themarkpike | Filed under: Stuff |I somehow managed to get a press pass yesterday for the Anti-War march. I guess that means that now, when you criticize the media, I can take it personally? I had a great time seeing things up close. For example, I noticed Cindy Sheehan had some fresh ink on her ankle. It simply says “Casey ‘79-’04.”

I wanted to ask The Coup what it feels like to realize the thing you’ll be most famous for in your life is having an eerily prescient album cover. I didn’t though.

I just sort of wandered around trying to scalp film from professional amateur photographers (I need a digital, again) and hoping that my LOMO would miraculously work. It did.

This was one of the most uplifting things I have ever seen in my life. That’s Joan Baez booty-dancing with an Iraqi war veteran. Yes.

A few more of my pics are up over at the Campus Progress website along with accompanying text.
Joan Baez doing a booty dance. wow. might i ask what was the accompanying song?…i think that would contribute greatly to the story.
I think she was listening to The Coup, at the time. I wasn’t paying too much attention to the music. I was too hypnotized by this rare sight.
I came to your site via Washington Cube. I don’t normally comment on blogs much, but was mesmerised by these pictures of Joan Baez. Thanks for posting them; She looks like she’s really enjoying herself, and that’s a beautiful sight.
