Thanksgiving Cheerleaders
Posted: November 30th, 2006 | Author: Mark Pike | Filed under: Photography, Travel |A friend of mine sends out a Thanksgiving email every year where everybody submits a note about what they’re thankful for. She compiles it and then sends it out to the massive list.
This was my contribution for 2006:
family, friends, food on the table, long distance phone calls, handwritten words, intramural sports, polaroid pictures, hugs, high fives, hip hop, modern medicine, grandparents, npr, hbo, road trips, mix tapes, a roof, the month of may, lists, democracy, the daily show, the new york yankees, wikipedia, poetic justice, running water, shabbos and sunsets
My Civ Pro professor happens to be a mutual friend of the Thanksgiving email composer and decided to reply to my list. She wrote, “I was a little disappointed to see that Civil Procedure wasn’t on your list.”

if someone had given me the same assignment my list would’ve looked spookily like yours, without the new york yankees or shabbos, mix tapes would’ve been cds, and to add i would’ve put mountains, bitter irony, the colbert report and borat. my friend just sent me the link to your blog and having only read your thanksgiving cheerleaders entry, i think we should be friends.
Okay. Fine. We’re friends.
