It’s the prize I received for *drum roll* winning the first annual torts poetry contest! My professor decided to get the kinesthetic learners in the class to do something creative in order to remember these random cases.

Warning: the rest of this post is full of cheesy law school student humor (if you want to even call it that)

My first poem was a limerick about a woman who gets stuck in a falling elevator. To understand it, you need to have a working knowledge of classic rock, and a decent comprehension of negligence standards…

“Living it up”, the chorus dropped for four floors
Like Tom Petty, she was free fallin’
Otis and Adolphus she was callin’
Aeresmith ipsa loquitor?

And the winning entry was a double dactyl about the infamous exploding Ford Pinto…
