Where did you go, September? You happened so quickly. It’s the end of the month, and I’ve barely written a thing. How am I supposed to remember what I did years from now when I search the archives?!
I think the best way to backfill is to just look at receipts and bank statements which reveal purchases that are indicative of this month’s activities. If Hemingway had a blog, I think that’s what he’d do. (e.g. Baby Shoes)
- Exploding Dog. Poster for the basement.
- ELPR Dues . 2 years Worth. What a bargain! So far, only costs about $2.00/hr.
- Wawa. Interestingly, if you try to order a BLT and they’re out of tomatoes, the entire computer ordering system freezes. I might write corporate about this one and see if they send me a coupon for a free pretzel as a thank-you.
- Staples. Envelopes and fancy paper for job application materials.
- Brooks Brothers. Job interview tie. Very conservative looking. Red and navy. “Classic”, said the cashier.
- The Fat Canary. Quail with creole crawfish cornbread stuffing, and a side order of great conversation.
- Staples. More envelopes and fancy paper.
- USPS. Stamps.
- Trader Joe’s. Kashi Go Lean Crunch. Microwave Dinners.
- Miller Mart. I have no idea.
- The Big Hunt. DC hour of happiness.
- Best Buy. Movie projector. The beginning of the great guerrilla drive-in experiment. We watched North by Northwest. “Classic.”
- Trader Joe’s. More Kashi.
- Ebay. Extremely satisfying last minute win. Fixing up my old laptop so that my grandfather can have a computer with which to forward me lawyer jokes and chain mail.

Hiya Mark,
Judging by your shopping list and your successful peg-boarding, it looks like things are going well for you. I’m glad to see that. Happy October!
