Saturday afternoon substitute radio show on Duke’s very own WXDU. DJ Greg Bloom pumped frequency 88.7 full of funk. TLC remix of “Scrubs” was my personal favorite. Either that or Patrick singing over an instrumental, or DJ MegaPickles scratching a comedy laugh track over DJ Shadow.

A marching band at halftime of the soccer games at this weekend’s Cherry Blossom soccer tourney was the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen in the shadow of our national monuments. They played the Olé song and Ludacris and the Roots. Wow.

There’s an artist in DC who makes tape sculptures and puts them in random spots about town. Whenever I stumble across one, it always makes gives me a different perspective of a path I’ve walked a hundred times before.
